1. Who We Are

BackerIQ is operated by AXT Media Ltd. We provide UK angel investor intelligence from Companies House public data. For privacy enquiries, contact hello@backeriq.com.

2. Data We Collect

From visitors:

  • Standard analytics data via Google Analytics 4 (page views, device type, referrer)
  • IP address (anonymised in GA4)

From subscribers:

  • Email address (provided when subscribing to updates)
  • Subscription source (which page you signed up from)

From paying customers:

  • Payment details (processed by Stripe — we never see your full card number)
  • Email address for account management
  • Search and export history for rate limiting

3. Investor Data

BackerIQ processes publicly available data from Companies House, including officer names, appointment dates, company associations, and PSC records. This data is published under the Open Government Licence and is freely available at Companies House. We do not collect private information about investors.

If you are listed on BackerIQ and wish to claim your profile, correct inaccuracies, or request removal, contact hello@backeriq.com. We will respond within 30 days.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the BackerIQ service (investor search, profiles, analytics)
  • To send email updates if you subscribed (you can unsubscribe anytime)
  • To process payments via Stripe
  • To improve the service (anonymous usage analytics)

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Cookies

BackerIQ uses Google Analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. No advertising cookies are used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

6. Data Storage

Data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS in the EU) and Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant). We retain subscriber data until you unsubscribe. Payment data is retained by Stripe per their privacy policy.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Data portability
